Banana Date Shake
When bananas get good and ripe in your fruit bowl, peel them, pop them into a sealed bag, and store in the freezer. They are excellent for texture and sweetness in shakes and smoothies (Not to mention fantastic for baking too!). No extra sugar or honey is required in this recipe as the dates and banana are all you need. Should you want extra protein, you can also add your protein powder of your choice.
1 cup milk of your choice (can be non-dairy!)
1 ripe frozen banana, cut into a few chunks
2 large Medjool dates, pitted
½ tsp vanilla
4 ice cubes
Pour the milk into the blender followed by the frozen banana, dates, vanilla and ice. Run the blender until the mixture is completely blended and the dates pulverized. Some tiny dates pieces may remain. Pour into a glass or glasses. Serve immediately.
